Week One

It is ESSENTIAL that you attend the WebMeeting on Tuesday January 13 at 5 p.m. Join the meeting from the Blackboard website. I will overview the course and provide instruction on WordPress, Twitter, Tweetdeck, and the blogroll. If you cannot join us, be certain you watch the recording by accessing the Webmeeting through the Blackboard site.  

Each week in this course there will be an essential question to which you will respond, on your blog, by Friday.
From Friday to Sunday you will interact with others (posting responses to their blogs) about both your and their understanding.
On Sunday, you will then post a follow up “Reflection” blog about what you may have learned, how your thoughts may have changed, and the way that you impacted the learning of others in the course.
Each week you will have posted at least twice on your own page, once to answer the essential question, and once to reflect on your learning and how you contributed to the learning of the PLN.

How to copy a blog post into LiveText:

You will post the URL for this second blog on LiveText by the listed due date.  I will not go to your blog to find your postings.

You will also have made a number of posts to other blogs.
While items due each week will be listed on the web page, you may also view the course calendar any time at this link. It would be a great link to bookmark!

Essential Question Week One:

What is classroom research and how can it improve teaching and learning in my classroom?

Tasks for this week:

Create a blog using WordPress. Please remember that by definition, a blog is a place where one may post information, and at which others may comment on the information that has been posted. So the ability to comment will be very important!

Due Friday 1/16 9 p.m.:
Post your response to the Essential Question on your blog.
Be certain to tag your blog entry as #SEACCR so that others may find it!

Due Sunday 1/18 by midnight:
Comment on the blogs of others and your Reflection Blog

Complete your second blog entry for the week reflecting on how you contributed to the learning of others, and the impact of your interaction with others through social media (Twitter, blog responses) on your learning.

Please post the URL for this second blog on LiveText by the listed due date.  I will not go to your blog to find your postings.

In addition please add your Blog Address and your Twitter Handle to the Blogroll! (No need to be afraid – it’s just a Google Spreadsheet :-).  You can access the blogroll from the Blogroll tab to find your PLN peers.
Please be certain to leave the information already there, and not to delete anyone’s information :-).

Use Twitter to share your blog address with the #SEACCR PLN.
